PodRead is agent ready

MCP-compatible agents can send articles to your podcast feed.

After a recent uptick in usage, we've made some quality of life improvements to PodRead, the app that turns text into audio and drops it in your personal podcast feed.

Come and get it, agents!

AI agents that reach outside tools through MCP can now connect to PodRead. You paste one address into your agent's settings, https://podread.app/mcp, or you tell the agent "add this MCP server." The agent asks you to sign in once, or you give it a personal API token from your settings page. After that, it knows how to turn an article into an episode, check whether the audio is ready, and read back your feed URL.

I've been using PodRead with Claude already and now it is dead simple to connect OpenClaw and Hermes Agent. Setup guides for the most popular agents are at podread.app/agents.

Ten new voices

PodRead has 10 new voices. Four are standard voices on the free plan (Tess, Lachlan, Priya, Arjun). Six are premium, for paid accounts (Isla, Reid, Matilda, Jarrah, Meera, Dev).

You can hear every voice on the settings page before you pick.

One feed for free accounts

Many blogs syndicate content via RSS. You can subscribe to RSS feeds in Podread so every new post from that site becomes an episode on its own. Free accounts can enable one feed.

Machine Payments Protocol

PodRead was the first text-to-speech API on the Machine Payments Protocol. Payments and processing are now faster and more reliable. Prices are a quote per request now. If you don't want to create an account, but need your agent to have text to speech access, this is the way.
