Disable sound
Exciting Update to DoMath.io: You Can Now Turn Off the Sound!
At DoMath.io, we constantly strive to enhance the learning and gaming experience, and your feedback is crucial to our updates. One recent user request was the ability to disable the sound—a feature I originally thought was a key part of the product. Listening to the rhythmic chime of correct answers allowed parents to hear learning in action, from anywhere in the room. It is the very sound of learning!
Nevertheless, understanding the diverse needs of our users, we've added a new "Enable sound" toggle. This allows you to control the audio feedback according to your preference.
Here’s how you can adjust your settings:
- Log in to DoMath.io.
- Go to "My Account".
- Click "Edit" and find the "Enable sound" toggle.
- Click "Update" to save your preferences.
Technical Insight:
We use a toggle component, which is a reusable UI element, for various settings within the game. It's built using Stimulus and ViewComponents, ensuring a smooth and responsive user interface. When a user opts to disable sound, this preference updates instantly, enhancing user experience without restarting the game. I have more detail about the technical implementation here, which might be useful if you are thinking about creating a toggle switch in your own application.
We hope you enjoy this new feature! What other updates would you like to see on DoMath.io? Let us know in the comments below or reach out directly!
